MR9 has a well on one side (which you can see in the spinning picture) that holds a 386 - 1.5V silver oxide battery. Diode (small black square inside well) steps the voltage down to 1.35V. IF your OM-1 meter was working and accurate in the first place, it will be as accurate when the MR9 is used. Use with thinner 386 battery. MS76, SR44, 357, G13, 303 etc. are too thick. OM-1/1N overhaul builds equivalent MR9 diode into the meter circuit. No adapter to buy or lose.

It is assumed that you will be installing foam sets within 30 days (one month) of receipt, up to which time Camtech will replace any foam that is found to be defective in manufacture. After 30 days, defective foam will be replaced at the customers expense. Camera repair is not meant to be done at home, so it is at your own risk.

Fits OM-1 through 4Ti. Does not include pressure plate. There are 2 styles back cover, with 2 sizes of pressure plates. New pressure plate (1.5" x 2.25") and old style smaller pressure plate (1.5" x 2") , this new back will not fit properly (larger pressure plate will ride up on 2 screws near sprocket. ) Fits M-1, OM-1, 1N, 2, 2N. Not for OM-10, G, 20, F, 30, PC, 40, 77, 707, 88, 101, or FTL. May not fit oldest M-1, OM-1 which have film guide screws near sprocket (these screws will interfere with larger pressure plate.) Extra screws must be taken out and holes filled with set screws. Not recommended for beginners.

Part only, installation not included. I now make these myself from single 1/3AA NiMH cells, which are rated at a higher capacity than the old nicad 1/3A cells. This is somewhat experimental. You will use your old Olympus charger which is designed for use with nicad cells. Nicads can be charged endlessly without damaging them. NiMH (nickel metal hydride) cells are VERY different than nicad cells and are sensitive to overcharging. NiMH benefit is that they don't suffer from discharge "memory". If left charging overnight, however, NiMH battery cluster may be damaged, possibly permanently. It is for this reason that there is no warranty on the NiMH cluster after you install it. Your old Olympus charger MUST be put on a timer of some sort that will turn the charger off after a full charge of 10-14 hours. This is absolutely essential. Original nicad cluster cells were 1/3A size, NiMH are designated 1/3AA, but are physically same size. NiMH cell capacity is bigger than nicad, so you may be able to shoot longer on one charge. This has not been determined yet. Your results may vary. NiMH cells are safe to "top off" after each use. "Topping off" a nicad pack is what shortens the cell life. Nicad should be run down considerably before recharging. No refunds, exchanges, returns, or credits on any repair parts.
