Olympus competed with Nikon to get a camera setup on a Space Shuttle flight. According to the story I heard, the Nikon would have needed heavy modification. According to Nasa, the only change needed for the Olympus OM-4 and 18V Grip was to replace all naugahyde outer coverings with metal foil (this due to naugahyde out-gassing). John
